Technical Support Engineer (PharmaPackaging)

Location

Ideally Münnerstadt (Germany), however other locations in France or Belgium may be considered.

Overview

The Technical Support Engineer is in charge of global Customer support from a product/ process technical standpoint. Interacting with new customers, or existing customers on new projects, he/she partners with customers upstream to capture their expectations and translate into adequate product offer, in coordination with sales. The Technical Support Engineer accompanies customers all along their drug/device development schedule. Primary scope is Prefillable Syringes customers, with ultimate goals to further develop business in Europe, North America and India and improve customer experience.

Responsibilities

Partnership-driven project management

  • Partnering with Customers to provide technical product/ process assistance and support during customer’s development process and primary packaging definition or optimization
    • Understand customer’s landscape and market
    • Capture customer’s needs
    • Challenge expressed needs and provide expert support and consulting
    • Translate needs into adequate product offer, in conjunction with Sales
    • Proactive management of project with customers
      • Establish project schedule with milestones, objectives and dates
      • Proactive follow-up with customers, virtually or face to face
      • Reporting to management and Sales

Hands-on support

  • Supporting Customers during product trials and validation
    • Attend, when applicable, machinability tests at customer
    • Attend, when applicable, visual/dimensional/ functional product evaluation at customer; assist in developing test protocols when applicable
    • Attend, when applicable, validation runs at customers
    • Troubleshoot in case of reported challenges

Voice of the Customer

  • Capturing and evaluating market trends, making recommendation internally to strategically address
    • Trends in primary packaging filling equipment
    • Trends in Pharmaceutical standards and norms
    • Trends in Customers’ practices

Development of support material

  • Contributing to development of customer-friendly technical/ scientific documentation pertaining to Nipro Pharmackaging products and processes, including supplier-related materials. Training to Sales accordingly.

Profile

  • Proven experience in international Customer management, in the domain of primary packaging for the pharmaceutical industry (5 years minimum)
  • Trained scientist or engineer
  • Expertise in glass prefillable syringes, including solid product and process knowledge
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English (fit for negotiations), including technical vocabulary
  • Solid communication skills
  • Proficient in project management
  • Proficient in Technical and Scientific writing, capacity to transform complex topics into customer-friendly experience
  • Ability to simultaneously interact with several departments internally (Sales, Marketing, Quality, Operations…) and at customers (R&D, project teams, Operations, Quality…) and partners (machine makers, Nipro suppliers such as rubber and secondary packaging manufacturers…)
  • Autonomy
  • Willingness to travel intensively on global level (expected 50%)
