Treasury Analyst

Reports to: Working Capital & Treasury Director NEGC

Location; HQ Mechelen, Belgium

Overview

The function holder will work closely with and report to the Working Capital & Treasury Director NEGC.  The role holder will be supporting the day-to-day cash management of NEGC and its subsidiaries and will act as the right hand of the Working Capital & Treasury Director NEGC.

Responsibilities

Relationship management

  • Manage relations with sales and customer service department as well as support local teams and staff on payment queries
  • Main point of contact with banks for day to day operations

Working capital planning & management

  • Support for Cash Flow planning and management in order to anticipate challenges ahead by means of – short term (based on payables, receivables & inventory), medium term (based on budget & forecast) and long term (based on multi-year strategic plans) planning taking into account ongoing operations, financial commitments as well as existing and future investment plans
  • Monitor and maintain a clear overview of internal and external funding requirements, lending and borrowing facilities and their payment schedules
  • Screening of customers in line with A/R policy

Day-to-day treasury activities

  • Day-to-day cash management of NEGC & subsidiaries
  • Monitor daily outgoing transactions + back-up of A/P clerk
  • 1st signatory at HQ level with regards to outgoing payments
  • Monitor and manage bank statement and petty cash processing
  • Oversees and maintains documentation related to treasury in an orderly manner such as:
    • bank statements
    • overview of credit card limits
    • bank accounts database including signatories and approval limits
    • bank guarantees
    • LC’s, escrows,..
    • 3rd party, inter- and intragroup loans and credit lines

Foreign exchange management

  • Back-up of Working Capital & Treasury Director to calculate the exposure in various currencies and to perform foreign exchange transactions (spot, forward, swap)
  • Support deal confirmations with information received from the dealer & the treasury management system

Treasury projects

Contribute to projects to improve the functioning of the treasury department, such as:

  • Bank rationalization project
  • Set up of a cash pool
  • Set up of an in-house bank
  • Implementation of a treasury management system
  • Set up of a syndicated loan facility

Performs all tasks in accordance with ISO, JSOX and local statutory requirements and taking Nipro values into account.

  • Ambition to grow to a treasury manager function

Skills

  • English proficiency, fluency in Dutch or French, any other languages are a +
  • Financial background at least bachelor level OR master level and with a first solid experience in Treasury
  • Advanced level for Excel, knowledge of SAP and any TMS
